TIP! 이웃에 대한 질문은 한국사람들에게 생소한 편이다.

       미리 생소한 내용들을 준비하고 말할 대비를 하고 가야 당황하지 않을 수 있다.

* 표현설명

1. 사는 곳 (Your neighborhood)

→ I live in ~ neighborhood.
    I live in a small/large/mid-sized neighborhood.

    The atmosphere is very quiet/peaceful/noisy/busy.
    It's crazy! There are so many people and cars!

2. 주변 환경 (Environment)

• 근처에 있는 것들 등.... 건물, 공원, 시설

→ There is ~ /There are ~ : ~가 있다

    There is a lake/pond/gym in my neighborhood.

• 그래서, 편리하다? 불편하다- 연결시켜 말하자.
→ There is a department store near my house, so it's very convenient.

3. 이웃 (Neighbors)
• 신혼부부 a newly married / newly weds
• 나이 든 부부 an old couple
• 대식구 a whole big family
• 관련어휘

  → move in : 이사를 오다

       move out : 이사를 가다
       next door (neighbor) 옆집 ex) There is a couple living next door. 
       opposite[across] from : 맞은편 
       adjacent : 옆에

TIP! 옆집, 앞집에 어떤 사람이 사는지…혹시 친하지 않거나 생각이 나지 않는다면 이야기를 지어내자.

       사실이 아니어도 훌륭한 얘기를 만들것! 스피킹 테스트에서는 순발력이 중요하다.

4. 관계는?

• 친하다
→ My family is close with them.
    I get along with my neighbors.

• 알고 지내다
→ We are acquainted with each other.

• "어떻게 알게 됐는지, 친해지게 됐는지,등을 추가해서 얘기를 만들어라!"
→ We became close b/c ~.

• "어릴 때의 기억을 함께 얘기 해주는 것도 좋다"
→ When I was a child[young/little], I used to ~, but now ~.

• 관려어휘

→ come across : 마주치다  
     there isn't a chance / I didn't have a chance to ~. : 기회가 별로 없다
     that's why : 그것이 이유이다 ex) That's why we are not very close with our neighbors.

5. 함께 하는 활동은?
• 반상회 → monthly neighbor's meeting, a neighborhood meeting

I live in a nice and quiet neighborhood.
My neighbors are very friendly and we've made friends with many families.
I know almost everyone that lives in my apartment building, but lots of my friends say that they don't even know their next door neighbors.
There's a monthly meeting we get together and I think it's a good way to meet people, especially people that have moved into our neighborhood.
2 months ago, a newly weds couple moved into the apartment across from mine and we've become very close friends.
