오늘은 비교구문에 대해서 배웠습니다. 비교구문은 크게 원급, 비교급, 최상급이 있고, 원급과 비교급 형태로 최상급 의미를 만드는 표현까지 배웠습니다. 어휘는 strongly와 stringently, numerously를 배웠습니다.

원급 as(부+부/형) ~ as(접/전+N, S+V) / 형용사, 부사

비교급 ~er, more, less~ / 비교 대상 2개

※ 만드는 법

음절 (1자음+1모음) · 원급 · 비교급 · 최상급

1음절 · long · longer · longest

2음절 -y · happy · happier · happiest

2음절 · common · more common · most common

1 원급

※ as(부사) + 형용사 / 부사 + as(접속사/전치사) = '~만큼 ~한'

The kitten is as white as snow.

앞의 'as'를 지우고 [형용사 / 부사] 선택

Be as [quiet/quietly] as possible during the examination. Be 동사

I walked down the stairs as [quiet/quietly] as I could. 완벽한 문장

※ 부정 = not as ~ as / not so ~ as

The new desktop computer is not as / so speedy as the previous one.

※ '~만큼 많은 / 적은 -' 을 나타내는 원급 표현

'as + many / few / much / little + 명사 + as'

· 'as + many / few + 복수 명사 + as'

'the same (+ 명사) + as'

2 비교급

※ 비교 대상이 2개일 때는 '형용사 / 부사의 비교급 + than'을 쓴다.

This year's bonus is lager than the last one was.

I drove more slowly than usual because of the weather.

more bigger than (X) more better than (X)

→ 비교급 중복 (more, ~er, less~ 중 하나만 쓰기)

※ 'more / fewer / less + 명사 + than' = '~보다 많은 / 적은 -'

☞ More orders than last month were received online.

Many / Much ☞ more (수, 양)

Few ☞ fewer (수)

Little ☞ less (양) *lesser-famous singer 덜 유명한 가수 lesser 중요성이 적거나, 인지도가 떨어질 때

* late - later (시간상 나중에) / latter (순서상 나중에, 후자) ≠ former (전자)

※ the 다음에 비교급을 사용하는 경우

1.the + 비교급, the + 비교급

The more you exercise, (healthier, the healthier) you'll be.

2.the + 비교급 of + 비교 대상 2개

※ 비교급을 수식부사 much, even, far, a lot, way + ~er, more, less~

※ 비교 대상이 3개 이상일 때

최상급과 자주 보이는 표현 → 비교 대상 3개 이상

1.of / among / in + 장소, 범위 분야

2.have / has / had + p.p

- 완료시제는 말하는 이전부터 말하는 시점까지 여러 가지 상황을 표현할 수 있고, 그중에서 경험을 표현할 수 있는데, 완료시제를 쓰면 주어가 경험했던 모든 것들이 비교 대상이 된다고 생각하면 된다.

- You're the most attractive person that I have ever met. (내가 만났던 모든 사람들이 비교 대상이 되는 것)

3.available / possible * 가능한 모든 것들이 비교 대상

City Hall is the oldest building of all the structures.

Rosita's makes the best pizza in town.

※ '최상급 + 명사' 앞에는 주로 the / 소유격이 온다.

부사 최상급 앞에는 'the'를 사용하지 않는다.
