Chapter 14 전치사 1

이번 시간에는 이상길 선생님과 함께 전치사를 공부했어요.

- 전치사의 역할 

 He is on leave - 형용사(보어 역할)

 I met him at the park - 부사

- under, out of, among 전치사는 전치사구가 보어로 자주 사용돼요.

 전치사구가 보어인지는 해석해봐야 알 수 있어요.

 He is currently on leave.

- 전치사의 형태도 자세히 공부했어요

  at / on / in / such as / with regard to / following / notwithstanding

- 전치사는 뒤에 목적어를 필요로 해요.

 a) 명사

 b) 대명사

 c) 명사절(명사절 접속사 + 주어 + 동사)

- 시간 전치사 in / at / on   (at<on<in)

 (1) at (시간 시각) at 7 o'clock, at noon, at night, at present

 (2) on (요일, 날짜) on Friday, on May 18th, on Christmas, day

 (3) in(달, 분기, 년) in August, in spring/summer, in 2008, in the morning

 * 특정한 날의 아침/점심/저녁에는 on을 사용해요. ex) on Monday morning

- 장소 전치사 in / at / on

 (1) at(지점, 장소) at home/work, at the bus stop, at the meeting, We at Hackers

 (2) on(표현) on the wall, on the table, (+전파) on TV, on the radio

 (3) in(공간) in + 도시/국사, in+장소(~안에), in + 잡지/신문/사보

 * at the (beginning/end/top/bottom) of

 * in the middle of ~의 중간에

- in 숙어

 in advance 사전에

 in writing 서면으로

 in demand 수요가 있는

 in detail 상세하게, 세부적으로

 in bulk / quantity 대량으로

 in particular 특별히

 in a row / line / queue 줄을 서서

 in a timely manner 시의 적절하게

 in the foreseeable future 가까운 미래에

- at 숙어(at은 최상급/숫자와 절친)

 at least 적어도

- 시점과 잘어울리는 전치사

 since/from/by/until/before/prior to + 시점

- 기간과 잘 어울리는 전치사

 within/for/during/over/through/throughout + 기간

- 전치사 since 뒤에 오는 표현들

 + 3 o'clock/noon/Monday/May/it's founding/establishment/its inception/beginning

 * since는 접속사로도 사용돼요.

- 전치사 for 과 잘어울리는 표현

 for + 3hours / weeks / a decade / ages

- 전치사 by

 행위가 뒤에 시점까지 완료 (제출/완료/반납)

 submit,hand in, turn in / finish, complete / return

- until(접속사, 전치사)

 행위가 뒤에 시점까지 지속(휴가, 축제, 할인행사, 영업시간, 출장)

  last 지속되다, stay 머무르다, open 열려 있다, remain (상태가) 유지되다

- 시점과 시간을 나타내는 전치사

 (1) while 접속사  + 주어 + 동사+ 전치사구(주어+동사를 생략할 수 있어요)

 (2) during + 특정기간 (보통 숫자 X)

 (3) for + 구체적인 기간 

- 위치를 나타내는 전치사 

 1) above / over

 2) below / under

 3) beside / next to ~옆에

  * besides(전/부) 게다가, 더욱더(=in addition to)

 4) near 전부형   * nearly = almost

 5) within (장소/기간) ~ 이내에

 6) opposite 맞은편에

- 위치 전치사 숙어도 공부했어요.

 1) above

   above the ocean 바다 위에 

   above his income 그의 소득을 초과한

   above all others 누구보다 뛰어난

   above all 무엇보다도 우선

 2) within

   within the limit 범위 내에서

   within the walking distance 걸어서 갈 수 있는

     = adjacent, in the vicinity of

 3) over

  (1) 시간 over the 시간  

          over the last/past/next five years

  (2) 부대상황 over a cup of coffee

  (3) 수단 over the telephone/fax     cf)by phone, by fax(the가 없어요!)

  (4) 숙어표현 

   concern over ~에 대한 염려/걱정

   dispute over ~에 대한 논쟁/논란

   have the edge over ~보다 유리하다/비교우의를 갖다(advantage)

 4) under

  under construction 공사 중인, 진행중인

  under warranty(품질보증)- 기간 내에 있는

  under the supervision of ~의 감독 아래에 있는

  under the new management 새로운 경영진 하에

  under the insurance policy 보험 약관의 규정에 따라

  under 16 years of age 16세 미만의

  under pressure 스트레스가 많은

  under way 진행중인

  under repair 수리 중인

- 방향을 나타내는 전치사

 1) from ~에서, ~로 부터 from the front dest

 2) to ~로  sent it to my e-mail

 3) across ~를 가로질러서, 곳곳에, 도처에  across the street / across the world

 4) along ~를 따라서  along the river  ( along with ~와 함께, ~와 더불어서 ex) along with the wind)

 5) for ~를 향해서 / 기간 / 목적 / ~를 대신해서(in place of = on behalf of)

 6) toward(s) 방향 / 목적(결과) / 시간(~즈음에)

- 방향 전치사 숙어표현

 1) to 

   some extent/to a certain extent 어느 정도 까지는

   to my knowledge 내가 알기로는

   to one's satisfaction ~가 만족스럽도록

 2) out of

  out of print 절판된

  out of stock/inventory 재고가 없는

  out of order 고장난

  out of control 통제되지 않는

  out of fashion 구식의

  out of curiosity 호기심에서

오늘 공부한 어휘예요.

- seek employment 직업을 구하다 (look for work) - seek은 타동사

- renew one's subscription 구독을 갱신하다

  extend the subscription 연장하다

  cancel the subscription 취소하다

  suspend the subscription  보류하다, 중지하다

- hold a conference 회의를 열다 (=conduct=host)

- reach an agreement 합의에 도달하다

  reach the goal 목표에 도달하다

  reach to the items 물건에 손을 뻗다

  sign an agreement 합의서에 서명하다

- deliver a presentation  발표하다

 = make a presentation

 = give a presentation

  * deliver an address 연설하다 / deliver a baby 출산하다

- moderate increase 약간의 증가 cf) sharp increase 급격한 증가

전치사는 정말 공부할 분량이 많았어요.

100% 외우는 건 쉽지 않겠지만 감이 생기도록 열심히 복습해야겠어요!
