 1. 원급

   # as[부사] + 형용사/ 부사 + as[접속사/ 전치사] => ~만큼 ~한

      The kitten is as white as snow.

      -앞의 as를 지우고 [형용사/ 부사] 선택

     * Be as [quiet / quietly] as possible during the examination .

     * I walked down the stairs as [quiet/ quietly] as I could.

   # as + 형용사/ 부사 + as : ~만큼 ~한

      부정: not as ~ as / not so ~ as

       The new desktop computer is not as / so speedy as the previous one.

   #' ~만큼 많은 / 적은 ~ '을 나타내는 원급 표현

     'as + many / few / much / little + 명사 + as'

      as many / few + 복수 명사 + as 

      I bought as many clothes as Sam did.

      as much/ little + 불가산 명사 + as

      please provide as much evidence as possible.

    # '~와 같은 ~'을 나타내는 원급 표현은

      'the same [+ 명사 ] + as'

       Andrew has the same car as we do.

       Andrew's car is the same as [ours, ourselves, our, us]

     # 원급 수식 부사 nearly 거의, almost거의, just 꼭

       The replacement part is nearly as expensive as a new machine.

2. 비교급

    # 비교 대상이 2개일 때: 형용사/ 부사의 비교급 + than 

     This year's bonus is larger than the last one was.

     I drove more slowly than usual because of the weather.

      more bigger than [X]

      more better than [X]

   # more/ fewer / less + 명사 + than 

    => ~ 보다 많은 / 적은 ~

      More orders than last month were received online.

               few          - fewer [수]

              Little         - less [양]

                               - lesser [중요도, 인지도가 더 떨어질 때]

                                     *lesser - famous/ lesser- singer

                 late        - later [시간]

                               - latter [순서]'후자' / former 전자

    # the 다음에 비교급을 사용하는 경우

       1. The + 비교급, the + 비교급 / the more, the better

           The more you exercise, [healthier, the healthier] you'll be.

       2, The +비교급 of + 비교대상 2개

           Diana is [older, the older] of the two sisters.

     # 비교급을 수식하는 부사 much , even , far, a lot, way 

      How you attain success is much more crucial than success itself.

         [way bigger, way much more expensive]

   - 라틴어 파생어휘 형용사는 than -> to

   - senior 나이가 많은/ junior 나이가 적은

   - major 큰 / minor 작은

   - superior 우월한 / inferior 열등한

   - prior to = before

3. 최상급

   # 비교대상이 3이상 일 때

 City Hall is the oldest building of all the structures.

 Rosita's makes the best pizza in town.

 It is the most interesting TV show [that] I've ever seen.

 *최상급과 자주 보이는 표현 - 비교 대상 3개 이상

  1] of / among / in => 장소, 범위, 분야 

  2] have / has / had + p.p => [완료와 잘 쓰임]경험한 모든 것과의 비교

  3] available / possible => 이용 가능한 모든 것과의 비교

 Q. The ___ car available.

   A. fast B. faster C. fastest

   # '최상급 + 명사 ' 앞에는 주로 the or 소유격이 온다.

    Summer Rain was the most interesting movie we saw during the film festival.

    Mr. Sanders will sign a contract with his most important client today.

   

    서수 + 최상급

    The third biggest university in Korea.

     

    부사 최상급 앞에는 'the'를 사용하지 않는다.

     I repaired the car expensively.[O]

     I repaired the car most expensively.[X]

  # 최상급 수식 부사

  앞 - by far[ 단연코 ], single [ 제일 ] 

  뒤 => ever [ 지금까지 중 최고 ]

 at your earliest convenience : 가능한 빨리 = as soon as possible 

 at  the earliest : 아무리 빨라도

 at the latest : 아무리 늦어도

 at best : 기껏해야, 고작

 at one's best : ~의 최고의 전성기인

 so one's utmost, do one's best : 최선을 다하다

 at least : 적어도

         더 ~해 본 적 없다. 

        My garden gas never been more beautiful than it is now.
