1. 명사절의 자리와 쓰임

- 명사절은 명사처럼 주어, 목적어, 보어 자리에 온다.

[ Whether I need to go on the trip or not ] hasn't been decided. 주어

Marsha mentioned [that she would be late.]목적어

The documentary was about[ how pollution affects water supply.] 전치사의 목적어

The issue is[ who will be held responsible for the mistake.] 보어

- 명사절 접속사 자리에 전치사나 대명사는 올 수 없다.

The administrative manager agrees [ on, that ] we need more salesclerks for the holiday season.

The technician explained [it, that] the software was updated weekly.

2. 명사절 vs 형용사 절

- 명사절과 형용사 절의 구별

# 명사절 [직접 주어, 목적어, 보어로 사용]

# 형용사 절 [앞에 명사를 수식]

- 앞에 주절의 의미를 보충해 주는 역할 - 부사절 / S + V [주절], 접 S + V [부사절]

C. if 절은 주어 자리에도, 전치사 다음에도 올 수 없다.
