Hi folks. 

It is pleased to see you via this text. I am Anthony who is gonna be a leader of this group. 

This groups is for those who want to brush up his or her English skills or who are willing to improve its speaking skills. So, we are welcome who graduated from university in oversea, who lived in English area for years, who is studying English and who looks for a job at MNC(Multi national corporation). There is no specific requirement when it comes to your speaking level, but if you think you are confident with this sort of gatherings or try something hard for your skills, why not just join and enjoy an atmosphere here!

Contents that the group is going to deal with are mostly likely to open a debate. I think that debating is a great tool that lets people in it think more, which brings about great idea and logical process to persuade opponent party. English skills get better through this sequences. Moreover, around this level, there is no one who has trouble with communicating with others in English. But a real problem is that it is damn hard to think thoughtfully during using English because we are not accustomed with pondering about something with English simultaneously. I think that is why we have some trouble with speaking as native speaker does. To solve out this matter, we'd better have many chances to generate ideas and logical sentences using English not using Korean. Debating gives us many of the chances.

I am going to prepare for materials that we are able to begin debating every session. You guys better read what I will provide you before the study since you need to have your own time to decide where would you stand for between pro and con every time. 

As what this group aims at maintaining or improving individual's English skills, it is not allowed to speak in Korea for debating time. Of course, you can speak in Korean during break time. 

I do not want to make the group pretty serious one since it would be burdensome to us. Thus, I would like to make the group moderated. There are two days we can meet up in a week. So, according to members' opinion, there would be changeable schedule such as one day for debating, another day for just chitchatting. 

Every tuesdays and thursdays, session is going to be opened!

11:00 ~ 11:30 : small chat

11:30 ~ 12:30 : dividing groups, debating. 

12:30 ~ 12:40 : break time

12:40 ~ 13:00 : feedback and presentation 

Detail of the program

1) small chat: talk about weekdays' of each member in turn and introduce new comers. 

2) dividing groups, start debating: each of group are consisted of 4 ~ 6 people. afterward, you need to decide where to stand for between pro and con. then start debating. 

2 mins for sharing briefly agenda that is going to be dealt with

3 mins for first person in pro

3 mins for first person in con

3 mins for second person in pro

3 mins for second person in con

(another 3 to 6 mins will be there for third person in pro and con)

3 to 5 mins to think about making points to attack on the other side (not compulsory)

keep debating with same opponent or another opponent group.

3 to 5 mins to think about making points to attack on the other side (not compulsory)

within 3 mins that each of you have, you can claim your argument, make a point to protect your claim (or be against your opponents' claims), use examples such experiences or knowledges and reemphasis your claim at last. 

3) break time: just take rest

4-1) 1 person in one group will be presented to how debate goes on and where to be destined to rest of us.  

4-2) tell something good or bad that is found from some person in turn.

2) 스터디 전날 까지 참석 여부에 대해서 댓글을 모임공지에 달아주셔야 합니다. 

3) 스터디 시간에 맞춰서 오셔야 합니다. 지각하시면 벌금 1000원입니다. -> 음료나 과자, 많이 모인다면 치느님으로 바뀌십니다.. 회식을 원하시는 분은 지각을 자주하셔도 환영...? :)
