1.     Past: 단순과거 시제는 동작이 일어난 과거의 어느 시점에 초점이 있다. (과거의 사건)

예) I was in New York. (Be 동사)

2.     Present perfect: 현재완료는 과거에 일어난 일의 <현재와의 관련성>에 주된 관심이 있을 때 사용한다. (과거의 경험)

예) I’ve been to New York. (Be 동사)

Today’s Dish:  “Have you ever traveled overseas?” If so, please describe one of the countries or cities that you have visited.

Tip: 외국에 가본 경험이 있다면 가능한 상세하게 묘사하는 게 좋아요. 만약에 외국에 나가본 경험이 없다면 어느 나라에 가고 싶은지 그 이유를 함께 설명하는 것도 잊지 마세요.

There is many city in the world which I went to and lived. Sydney is the best. I live there for 8 month and when I have some spare time or get a chance, I go around Sydney. There are many cities around the world which I have been to and lived. The best city of them is Sydney. I lived there for 8 months and whenever I had some spare time or got a chance, I went around Sydney. It has beautiful beaches, peaceful parks and more privacy for individuals. The local people were really nice and it was pretty impressive to see and feel the combination of nature and modern conveniences.

When I had to come back here, to Korea, I realized that I didn’t want to. For even now I can say that I want to live there for the rest of my life.

For an Advanced Level

There are many cities around the world that I’ve been to or lived in. The best city of them is Sydney. I lived there for 8 months. When I was there and had some spare time, I would sightsee around Sydney as well as the surrounding area. Sydney has beautiful beaches, peaceful parks and is less densely populated than Korea so there’s more personal space and privacy especially when you are outside. The local people were really nice and it was pretty impressive to see and feel the combination of nature and modern conveniences. I enjoyed it so much that I could have stayed and lived in Sydney for the rest of my life.

Tidbits for a want-to-be an advanced level-

1.     Go around 도 되지만, sightsee라는 단어를 사용해 보세요. Sightsee는 꼭 가이드와 함께 단체관광을 하는게 아니더라도 혼자서도 sightsee 할 수 있지요.

2.     영어는 되도록이면 정확하게 그리고 친절하게 설명을 하면서 짚어주는 성향이 있기 때문에 “it”보다는 “Sydney”라고 한번 더 확실하게 명칭을 말해주는 것이 더 좋아요.

Dessert:

1.인칭과 시제에 따른 동사의 변화를 연습한다. 

2.격과 수에 따른 대명사를 훈련한다.      

3.불규칙 동사 삼단 변화를 훈련한다.
