Let’s start the interview now. Tell me a little about yourself.

My name is Ae-jin kim, and I’m a 24 years old. I am currently looking for a job. I graduated from keonggi  university last summer. I majored in intellectual property which is related to right such as patent, copyright, and trademark rights. Attending university, I worked for an academy for one and a half years. I taught English to  elementary and middle school students. Right now, I live with my sister in jukjeon kyonggi province. We both are positive and caring so there have been no big problems to live together. I think I am outgoing and social person. So when I have a free time, I like to go outside and meet my friends. I also work out every morning to keep fit.

Unit2.학교

-You indicated in the survey that you attend university. Tell me about your school. Where is it? what does it look like? What can be found on the campus?

I attended keonggi university. My school is located in keonggi province and a little bit out of town. Whenever I go to school, I had to take a bus to reach there. The campus is so large and beautiful, especially in the fall. All of the trees turns red and  yellow in the fall. So lots of mountain climbers visit the campus to see that gorgeous scenery.  There are many buildings on the campus such as library, school cafeteria, dormitory and many classrooms. I  like the student union building the best. Because it has lots of places for students to socialize.

When I entered a school, I met a classmate who has the same major. She took the same English course and even the town was the same. After finishing the classes, we went back to home together. I had most of the campus life with her.

-Tell me about your first visit to your school. When was it and who were you with? What did you do and what was your first impression of the school?

I first visited my university on the entrance examination. I was accompanied by my mother. I took a writing examination and then I looked around the campus with my mom. The campus was so large and beautiful. I was very impressed. It was a very memorable day.

-Tell me about a special event that took place at your university, such as a graduation ceremony or a school trip. What were some memorable things that happened during that event?

The most memorable event for me was a graduation ceremony. I was accompanied by my parents and friends. All of my family members came over to celebrate my graduation even if they had their own works. My high school and university friends also celebrated my graduation. We took a picture on the grasses of the campus and had dinner. It was a very meaningful day.

-In your background survey, you indicated that you are a student. I ‘d like to know about a class project that you’ve worked on recently. What was it about? What did you do for the project?

I took a invention and patent class last semester. In this class, I did a project about an invention. First, I tried to think up a bright invention which is not present in our lives.

Second , I started to write down about that idea in detail. And then, I conducted a survey for the classmates to check if it is realizable plan or not. Lastly, I gave a presentation to my class. I was quite nervous, but I did well on the presentation.

-Technology is playing an increasingly important role in education. Tell me about the technology you use at school. What do you use it for?

I agree with that. I often use the wireless internet. Whenever I studied in the library, I used my notebook. So I needed to use the wireless internet service. Most of the schools provide that service so long as students request beforehand. Using this service, I could get lots of information from the internet.

-What is your major? Why did you choose this field of study? What kinds of courses are you taking? please provide as many details as possible.

I majored in intellectual property. I chose my major because I was interested in this field. Actually I graduated last semester, so I’m not taking the class. But there is a class which is the most memorable. It was a invention and patent class.

-You indicated in the survey that you live in an apartment. Tell me about your home. What does it look like? What types of rooms does it have? Please describe it in detail.

I live in an apartment with my sister. My house is small and clean. It has white walls and wooden floors. There are two bedrooms, a kitchen and a balcony. There is no living room so we have to relax in each own room. My sister’s room is bigger than mine. There are a closet and a television in only her bedroom.  So sometimes it makes me jealous.

-Tell me about your bedroom. What does it look like and what do you keep in it? Use as details as possible to describe it.

My room is clean and well-organized.  It has a large window, so it makes my room bright and cheerful. My room is not that big, but it has all of essential furniture such as a bed, a desk, and a bookshelf.  I recently wallpapered my bedroom. Now it made the room relaxing. I like my room a lot.

I live apart from my parents. I am very busy during the week, so I usually spend time with my family on the weekend. We usually spend time preparing a meal at home. My mother cook and my sister and I help her to cook easily. While having our dinner, we talk about current events. After dinner, all of the family members relax watching TV. My house makes me very comfortable.  So I like spending time at home with my family together.

I live in an apartment with my sister. I recently redecorated a kitchen. I replaced the old wall paper. The new wallpaper is a bright white and makes the kitchen more organized. And I also decided to get self-assembly furniture. I bought it in ikea and finally put it together perfectly. It makes me feel a sense of achievement. Now I am very happy with my new kitchen and the furniture.
